About Me

Patterns by Taylor Jean Cox was founded by designer and pattern maker Taylor Jean Cox. This brand was created from a love of fashion, creativity, and the belief that sewing should feel exciting, modern, and accessible to everyone.

I am a self proclaimed and proud craft kid! I have loved making my own clothing since I was young. During the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020, I decided to fully throw myself into what made me happiest: sewing. While searching for patterns, I quickly noticed that many designs on the market felt outdated and did not reflect the trends and elevated pieces I was inspired by. I wanted to create clothing that felt current, wearable, and fashion forward. That was the moment I began drafting my own patterns from scratch, and what started as a creative outlet quickly turned into something much bigger.

Since then, my designs have grown beyond independent pattern making into television, music videos, and entertainment projects, with work featured alongside names such as Ariana Madix, Mari Monti, Benny Drama, and Cameron Diaz. While those experiences helped shape my eye as a designer, the heart of my brand has always remained the same: creating pieces that make people feel inspired, confident, and excited to make something for themselves.

Every pattern is thoughtfully designed to balance style with modern silhouettes. I believe fashion should feel both expressive and fun. Sewing allows people to connect with clothing on a personal level.

More than anything, this brand was built around the idea that creating with your hands can be deeply therapeutic. Sewing became both a creative escape and a form of self expression during a transformative time in my life, and that same feeling continues to inspire every pattern released today. There is something incredibly special about turning fabric into something uniquely your own, and helping others experience that process is at the center of everything this brand stands for.

One of my favorite parts of this journey has been seeing how people bring each design to life in their own way. From fabric choices to personal styling, every finished piece tells its own story.
